I can't even BEGIN to imagine how anyone who gives a damn about this country would want to encourage all to break our laws and come here illegally by rewarding their children (and many have large families) with citizenship.

I'd love to give you "the news source" but I can't, because every one I've seen everywhere (including liberal news media) reports that fact. All have been consistent more than many other polls I have seen: about 70% of Arizonans and 60% of other Americans support it.

I understand, but this law will not promote or stop those who have always been (and are determined to continue being) racist or hateful.

Of course it is, as it always will be and as history has shown time and time again. In this case, we just need to "amend" the Amendment, not repeal it.

Carrie-Anne, you can't have people lying or deceiving others about what this law states just because of the fear or hysteria that there will be those who are racist who latch on to the idea.

What are you guys on "Morning Joe" talking about? The 14th Amendment was put in place to protect blacks (namely slaves) after their emancipation who were brought here against their will and treated as second-class citizens.

P.S. I'm glad an overwhelming majority of American and Arizona support this law (even according to the liberal news outlet's polls). Everyone is fed up with free-loaders, over-crowding, automatic citizenship to children of illegals, and violent crime being supported on their tax dollars.

Wow pyromosh. I love how you say that I "went off on a tantrum about 'liberals' using terms you don't like" and THEN you go on to do it AGAIN when you say "This isn't some clear case of right vs wrong as many anti-immigration folks would have you believe".

First off pyromosh, this discussion isn't about "what we'd do" if we lived in Mexico and had a lousy government or economy (although we are heading in that direction and illegal immigration doesn't help).

Pyromosh, the U.S. is no more responsible for solving the problems of poor countries with corrupt governments than other nations are to solve all of our own nation's problems. First and foremost, the U.S. is responsible to its own citizens and what is best for itself.
